Paper Lithography/Gum Arabic Transfer Print
This process used photocopies or laser prints as the printing plate.
This process uses photocopies or laser prints as the printing plate. The photocopy is covered with a thin coat of gum arabic and then ink is rolled onto the image. The toner in the photocopy is oily and will attract the ink and the gum Arabic acts as a resist so ink does not adhere to the paper. You gently wash the gum arabic off the printing plate with water and print from the paper matrix by hand or with a press. With care several copies can be printed from the same photocopy.
